My life was pretty fucking good.

I had a job where I made a lot more money than I needed.

My car was running great.

I was well on my way to being a wholesome, happy guy, getting married or whatever. Not that worried about all that jazz, but it seemed enevitable.

Now, I'm not really sure how I'm going to pay my rent. The just cut hours at work again. I'm looking for a new job, but, apparently something is seriously fucked up in my alignment because my car 2 weeks ago my tires were fine, now they are stripped to the threads.

Luckily, I noticed before a tire popped. Or both.

Fuckitall, I don't even feel like bitching about it.

Life sucks, get a helmet.

I was going stir crazy in Charlotte, because all my friends were being boring and didn't want to hang out with me.

SO I got new friends.

THey are awesome.

I still love my old friends, but new friends are awesome.

I had the greatest night of all nights last night, that involved alcohol women and stories that even the interweb can't handle. Needless to say, I'm feeling a trip to Ri Ra's to totally embarass one chick, especially if she follows through with getting me in free.

MAcadoo's is officially monday night hang out. Food and booze for $8.55 plus tip? AND I HAD ENOUGH TO TAKE HOME AND EAT LATER.

OH MY GOD!

WEdnesday night is Diner night.

Saturday night is Penguin/RiRa's night (maybe this saturday night???).

I wrecked my car, and need to get my credit card reinstated (because it expired) to get it fixed, but I will asap.

I love Charlotte, this is one of the greatest places in t he world.

Tommorrow night, party at Campus Connection, shit loads of booze and people. If I don't make it through the night, I want all of you to know that I love you with all of my heart and I had a great time getting to know you.

I'm even excited about going to work tonight. I need to get my car fixed asap.

No matter how tired I get, I don't go to sleep until about 4 or 5 in the morning. I stopped bothering to go to bed before that. I get headaches because I'm so tired, but the second I hit the bed, I get restless.

I really need out of Charlotte. I'm getting sucked in.

I had the best times of my life here, easily. Hands down. But, I need to get out, and the city wants me to leave.

I'm going on tour this summer, it's almost a done deal. That sort of almost makes me happy. I think I need it, but I'm worried I wont get it.

I miss hanging out with my friends. Some more than others. But, I'll be gone soon. I don't know if I'll ever be able to come back to Charlotte again.

How can something so liberating be so fucking depressing?

Canadian Lindsay, if you read this, you like Le Tigre right? They are getting that TKO song played out on Blockbuster TV. I never really listened to them, but that song is really waaay too poppy for me and is annoying as hell. They aren't quite the Riot Grrl group I expected.

In other news, I love rediscovering old bands I used to listen to, but never got into. The latest in the string is Tiltwheel and Leatherface. I don't recommend them to anyone who reads this, because I don't think any of you would like them. They are in a similar vein of Jawbreaker, but much more raw, very rough. Leatherface is like a british political Jawbreaker. But, god, are they amazing or what?

Tiltwheel is really amazing too, very understated music.

I am a pretty big Knapsack fan now too, which has lead me to the Jealous Sound. Either I am maturing, or I am getting wussy, because I really love that pop-synth crap TJS pulls out. I'm so emo. :(

Knapsack and Jealous Sound I recommend to all of you, way more poppy and accesible.

While I'm at it, everyone should check out the Shins too. I'm sure you've heard of them by now, but they might lead you down the path to Scared of Chaka, easily the best garage punk band to come out since the Zombies or MC5. The Shins broke up SoC, as I'm sure I've ranted about on here before.

I just started playing bass in a hardcore punk band. I really don't like the band, but it's more just because I can't stand the singer. But, it's fun to play punk rock, especially when you get to play the bass line.

I'm probably going on tour this summer, but with a band playing my music. Can't wait.

Graduating soon, getting out of Charlotte. Gotta leave this town behind.

Damn, I hate it when I get into a band after they are already broken up. I really hate that so much. I will never get to see Knapsack live, but whatever, at least I can enjoy their records.

I'm thinking about buying the Tiltwheel collection next. I've almost finished the Scared of Chaka collection. I am one album away on 90 Lbs Wuss. Not being rich makes collecting great records hard.

I think someone stole my copy of "Oh! Inverted World," the first shins album. For all you people who don't know who SoC is, but do know the Shins, the original lineup of the shins was half Scared of Chaka, half a band called Flake Music. Because of the success of the Shins, Scared of Chaka broke up. I do not like that very much.

Niners are 9-2. I'm really glad 2004 is over, it may have been the worst year ever. 2003 was a pretty cool year, I'd like to live that one over again.

They cut hours at work, so I may have to find another job asap.

Dating is no fun at all. I forgot how boring most girls are. I was dating a pretty interesting chick for a while, but she was 28 and a school teacher. I've already tried the older girl thing, and it just won't work out.

It's almost like I live alone right now, my roommates are all moving out. They all hate each other, which is weird, because I thought they were all friends. Whatever.

Got the Nirvana Box Set. Def worth the money. I don't even really like Nirvana anymore, but it is worth it. It is totally worth it.

I think I'm going to spend the day crying. I know a lot of people voted for Kerry, and there's a good chance he will win. I hope to dear God this doesn't come to pass, because he will be a terrible president and may very well lead us to WWIII. I'm just waiting for the day that he says, "We've got to shut down N. Korea and their weapons of mass destruction..."

I don't even know why so many people voted for Kerry, he's going to raise taxes, increase the military effort and spend money like a motherfucker. Remind me again why people want Bush out of office? I guess you all feel like abortion is a really big issue and we have to get someone who will let you decide your body's fate in office.

Bush and Kerry are so similar it is sickening, but what bothers me even more is that so many people are voting for Kerry just because they want Bush out of office. No one has given me a good reason to vote for Kerry over Bush, outside of articulation. Of course, I didn't vote for either one, but dear God, at least people should have a really fucking good reason for putting the country in the hands of someone who is going to make it even harder for me to pay rent and my bills because I need to support some fucking lowlife in the midwest who is too lazy to get a goddamn job. I guess working 2 jobs isn't enough for them, I should work 70 hours a week so someone else can get by on my buck.

And, Thanks to Kerry or Bush, my friends are going to get to see the world, covered in dead bodies and bullet shells. Thanks guys, hopefully I will be old enough not to get drafted when one of them makes the big mistake and attacks Korea. Or, heaven forbid, the Chinese. I know GWB would never have done anything like that with Powell behind him, but Colin has backed out. He'd better get a damn good sec of state, because we get a power crazed moron being Bush's military advisor and he could make similar mistakes to the ones Kerry is already proposing. Of course, we should just elect Kerry and let him Police Korea. He should lead the troops himself, he's a fucking war hero isn't he? But goddamn, I don't want Edwards in charge of my country either. I think I would rather have Nader in charge, and that's a scary thought.

But hey guys, the best thing about either one is, they have no real control over the economy, but they do have control over spending. So, while the will promise you that they can create jobs (total fucking bullshit), and how they will line your pockets with gold (Guess what, bullshit), they will instead raise taxes to lighten your pockets and misappropriate those funds for something completely opposite of what they said your money was going toward. SS will shrink even more, the deficit will likely grow (P.S. That Clinton Surplus was PROJECTED, not REAL!!!!!) and I will be even more broke than I am right now, because I will have to pay EVEN MORE FUCKING MONEY TO OUR FUCKED UP GOVERNMENT!

So thanks, all you people that voted for Kerry, because you wanted a change. I know his platform is so superior to GWB. And for those of you who voted for Kerry because you honestly believe in his ideas, this rant has nothing to do with you. I applaud anyone who votes for what they believe in, regardless of whether it coincides with my own beliefs. I might find your pick to be telling, and I may not respect the reasons you admire candidate (such as if you were a Nader supporter), but if that is what you believe in, you are doing your part to make the democratic process work.

There's nothing better (well, that's an exaggeration) than being sorely disappointed by a record from a band only to pick up their next record and find it to be as amazing as their first.

Midtown had a hard time making a polished record, they lost the rock. But I've been listening to "Forget What You Know" and while it's not as good as "Save the World, Lose the Girl" it kicks the shit out of "Living Well is the Best Revenge." Perhaps it has more to do with the fact that their first record is the one I can relate to the best, but I have to give their latest release credit...it's absolutely amazing.

While my boy Schanz is pumping Social D, I think Midtown may have the best rock record of the year. Everyone should check out "Give it Up," the first single. Midtown are probably the best songwriters around right now, but they still haven't mastered the craft. They are going to a dark place, but they coat it in straight up rock and roll. Midtown has been lumped with pop punk and emo rock, shit like that, but they are really just straight up rock. It's like Weezer if you took out the shitty, I want to be Brian Wilson element.

Of course, my thinking may be skewed, because I find myself actually enjoying a few New Found Glory songs. The singer's voice is still as annoying as shit, but the songwriting has definitely improved. "This Disaster" and "All Down From Here" make me think that there is pop punk out there that isn't absolute shit.

Other Radio Songs of note:

"Until the Day I Die" by Story of the Year- Terrible fucking band, and slightly generic thursday/tbs rip off, but it is not a bad song at all. It's pretty catchy and better than most radio shit.

"C'mon, C'mon" by The von Bondies - I hear this song everywhere now, comercials for the Olympics and fucking Rescue Me. It's great, but I think it's getting overcommercialized. They are like old Detroit Punk Rock.

"A Decade Under The Influence" by Taking Back Sunday - Man, I really want to like these guys, but I can't. Still, this is a catchy song with solid lyrics and a good riff.

If there is anything else out there worth listening to hook it up.

Our Halloween party has had a change of venue. Seems it may be at UWalk now. I don't really know where John wants to have his party, but it is his birthday, so I will let him call the shots. I hope you can all make it out.
